How we verify American-made products

Short answer: we list a product as made in the USA only when the maker publicly says so, and we link that source on the product page. If we can’t confirm a claim, we say so.

What is OnlyMadeInUSA?

OnlyMadeInUSA (bestofusastore.com) is a curated directory of 81 products from 75 brands, organized by category, state and brand. Every product links to its live Amazon listing.

What has to be true before a product is listed?

  1. The maker says it’s made in the USA. The claim comes from the brand’s own website or its Amazon listing, not from a guess based on where the company is headquartered.
  2. We record where. Each product shows the state, and the city when the maker names it, so you can shop by state.
  3. We link the source. Product pages include a “Source” link to the page that supports the origin claim.
  4. We check the listing. Each Amazon link points to a live product page that we opened and matched to the brand and product.

What does “Origin under review” mean?

Some earlier listings were labeled as made in Kentucky without a supporting source. Where public information contradicts that claim or can’t support it (for example, a brand that manufactures in another state or country), we keep the listing visible but mark it “Origin under review” and explain why.

Is “Made in USA” a legal standard?

Yes. The Federal Trade Commission requires unqualified “Made in USA” claims to mean “all or virtually all” of the product is made in the U.S. Read our plain-English guide to the FTC standard.

Who runs OnlyMadeInUSA?

OnlyMadeInUSA is a project of XENA Intelligence (XENA Intelligence Inc.), based in Louisville, Kentucky. XENA combines ecommerce agency experience with AI-visibility software to help products get discovered on marketplaces like Amazon and recommended by AI engines.

How does XENA support American companies?

  • Growing on Amazon. XENA’s agency team works with consumer brands on their Amazon presence, from listing content to advertising.
  • Getting recommended by AI. SearchPanel by XENA shows how a brand’s products appear when shoppers ask AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Amazon Rufus, Perplexity and Gemini, scores each product, and points to the listing fixes most likely to help.
  • Keeping product data in one place. XENA connects to Amazon and Shopify stores so a brand’s catalog stays complete and consistent.
  • This directory. We built OnlyMadeInUSA to give American makers one more place to be found, with each origin claim sourced and linked.

Yes. Product links go to Amazon, and as an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. It doesn’t change the price you pay or which products we list.

Why don’t you show prices or star ratings?
